Here is a beautiful video of this guy listening to music and how it seems to unlock something within him. It’s good that God created music :) Thanks to Glen for posting this: The Glory of Music

Andy posts on the Silent Killer. A brilliant post on what we view to be our rights and entitlements.

This will make you laugh (hopefully). It’s an e-mail exchange between two people, one asking the other to make a poster for her lost cat. It made me laugh a lot. I hope it does for you to!

An inspiring talk on the Power of introverts from TED. Worth a watch.

Why should you care about M.E – a post written by Tanya. This is one post you want to read because the reality of this illness is often ignored, but people are speaking up and getting angry and wanting to do something about it.

A new blog has hit my radar: Dave and Mary Mackie blog about life and being parents. Such a refreshing read.

The Gospel of Isaiah by Dave Cruver. Really enjoying his blog. But check out this post:

Generally speaking, every act of God consists of all three members of the Trinity. Each member participates- different roles in the same action. An obvious statement, yes; but a statement that must be presented again. The Triune God acts in such a way that the action is from the Father, through the Son, and by the Spirit.

Over here, Glen Scrivener writing about what Christians should placard over the world. What do you think?

Anita talks about Emotions and Scripture, here are some interesting insights!

Want to start reading the bible and have a plan to stick to? Here is a good one starting tomorrow (Monday)

1. I saw this flagged up by James Watts, a brilliant article on Art ministry - Birmingham Is Not New York: 5 Cautions for Arts Ministry:

“Start with where you are. If your church is in a region with a strong history of quilt making, that should be the starting point for your arts ministry. Don’t open with a white cube gallery space.”

2. Glen Scrivener writes about the Sabbath

But, spiritually speaking, Jesus has begun a whole new world.  And by the Spirit we are brought into His resurrection reality.  Spiritually speaking we have entered that rest.  We are on the other side – beyond the seventh day.  We are eight-day people!

3. Amazing pictures taken from inside musical instruments – its amazing!

4. This is an amazing story, heart wrenching and surprising story: The other story from a ‘Pillow Angel’

Looking around the Web, what do I see?

Well here are some good blog posts that I have come across -

An article on the Trinity by Mike Reeves (this is a bit from his book):

Single god, non-smoker, seeks attractive creation with good sense of humour…

Imagine for a moment that you are God. I’m sure you’ve done it before. Now think: would you in your divine wisdom and power ever want to create a universe, and if so, why? Because you feel lonely and want some friends? Because you like being pampered and want some servants? It is one of the profoundest questions to ask: if there is a God, why is there anything else? Why the universe? Why us? Why might God decide to have a creation?

Tanya Marlow writes about the illness narative. Its a very interesting read:

“As a  society, we know how to process the ‘acute’: the emergencies, the tragedies.  But we can’t handle the chronic; the non-fatal, ongoing, wearying, unsolvable illnesses. We don’t have the language, the categories, the ‘narratives’ to talk about it. We don’t know how to react to the person incapacitated for years with back pain, those housebound with M.E., the depression patient who doesn’t respond to treatment.  We don’t know whether we’re looking at a potential ‘tragedy’ case or ‘victory’ case, and it makes us suspicious and confused.”

Here is an interview with Glen Scrivener on why he blogs:

“Some people have an irenic tone and serpentine wisdom.   I have a nasal tone and bark like a dog.   Blogging suits me like that.  I’ve had the same strap-line since the beginning and it really has been the conviction that’s driven me: “Jesus is the Word of God.””

Well Halloween is coming very soon and no doubt everybody has their piece to say, especially Christians… yet one of my colleagues, Peter Dray has written three posts on Why God loves Halloween. Yup a different spin on things! Worth a read.

Over at Redeemed Mind Apologetics, Dan asks what our worldview is. I enjoyed tracing through the different options and outcomes! Which worldview are you? Have you ever tried this on the public to find out what they believe, it proves to be quite interesting and you can have some great conversations through it!

If you are a student and have exams. These top 10 tips for study may help you!

Was the name of Jesus declared by Moses?

Here is some really cool coffee art.

Lastly, check out Rob Ryan. An artist that makes incredible books and stories. Here is an interview with him… And here is a video of him working. And here is one of his pictures:

I have been doing some more web collecting and found some interesting stuff. I guess this is like going to an old shop with loads of antique things in there and along the way you find a little jem. I guess that is what the internet is like…

Anyways my lovely friend Emily has been listening to some talks on feminism and writes a post on whether Feminism is counterproductive. I am hoping she will follow this up with more thoughts about this!

My other friend Chris has been writing quite a bit about atheism and just a great quote from him on his post atheology: imitative & ascetic

“Ironically I’d suggest that atheism can only really be stored in Christ. As Chesterton put it, you can give up on his light but you can’t get out of his shadow – but in his light not only are other ‘gods’ shown up for what they are, we see ourselves truly too: when we see his humanity, we see how far we have fallen but also how deeply we are loved – in the light of the man Jesus we find God is not a bigger image of us; we are a broken image of him, hiding in his shadows. “

This puts it in perspective…

Some more collecting of websites and blogs has been happening this week… well lets have a look at what we have:

As most of you will know Steve Jobs passed away recently. Here is a really interesting letter from Mike Anderson…

Rachel Held Evans has spent a year as a biblical woman, this was a project to follow what the bible literally says about what it means to be a woman of God, this is a really interesting read! I don’t think I could of done it and thankfully it is all about the heart and not the outward stuff!

Ever wonder why you never see Spiderman online?… well this is why.

Here is a beautiful way to change music… I love how creative this is!

And there is a new way to teach children the Alphabet… no more kicking K!

Just to leave you with a thought: Should preachers be preaching that God hates you? Bish writes his thoughts.

I don’t know if you have ever done the strengths finder test? Well apparently one of my top strengths is to “input” which means I like to collect things and specifically I like to collect, words, articles and quotes (not china dolls which it suggested!) anyhoo I wanted to put this into good practise on my blog and so I have collected some things I have found on the internet and thought I would share them with you…

Lets start with a beautiful story about how Jesus changes lives. It’s just a wonderful story of a married couple having their lives turned around because of Jesus. On the other side of the coin, Dave Bish talks about how to chat with atheists about God. I loved this bit in the blog post:

Person A: I’m an atheist.
Person B (often): Oh.
End of conversation.
On the theme of christianity there is an interesting post by Red who writes about whether the bible and womens ministry go together and the questions/struggles/honesty that comes with that.
We also have proof of global warming here to keep you chuckling! (it may make you laugh!) Also on the same blog a rather interesting replacement to the first marriage kiss…
Is it possible that men are in trouble? or should we be surprised with the whole Genesis 3 going on and also do we love our iphone too much?

And lastly Is the New Testament reliable?
